Space Camp 2018 – an application from Ann Cecilie
What are you hoping to gain from this experience?
I have always had a dream to go to Space Camp since I was a little girl. This is really a dream come true if I`m so lucky to get to do this! I am hoping this experience will give me a higher understanding of the space exploration as it is today. I read a lot and try to keep updated at all times, but I want more
This summer I was so lucky to participate in Starmus 2017 in Trondheim, this was one of the biggest experiences in my life. met astronauts; Charlie Duke, Sandra Magnus and Terry Virts and it was truly a dream come true. I learned so much and I have used this a lot in my teaching. I have also had a lecture for other teachers about the universe and how and what to teach the children in my city. A group contacted me because of my great love for science and the universe. If you let me, I could probably turn every topic to be a conversation about universe/science/space

However, I want to learn more. In addition, I think I really could inspire more kids if I had first-hand information about space exploration.
I have been teaching for 10 years now. Today I teach at a primary school in Steinkjer, Norway, and I love every day. My students are between 6 – 12 years. I think this is an important time of their life, regarding their choices for the future/career/interests

I have a dream that one of my students becomes an astronaut in the future! My students are very interested in space and every day we talk a little bit about space even though I don’t plan to do so. I hope that the Norwegian curriculum will focus more on science, space and technology in the future, because this truly is the futureThe children whom are growing up now is the future of human kind. What they dream will be the future, so we must help them dream big.
also have a dream to make lesson plans about the universe online and I really think this will be the beginning of something wonderful. If I am so lucky to win this trip to Space Camp I will start a blog about my journey and probably use this platform to expand and make lessons plans and tips/links for teachers and students to use in their work.
I have included three videos, one from when I was so lucky to win a Starmus pass and another video when they came to my school and filmed in the classroom.

I have also added a recommendation letter from my vice principal at my school.
Thank you for considering me, hope for a positive response.

Sincerely,
